Background..

All building development is subject to strict Planning & Building Regulations. New regulations require all new buildings to have adequate and appropriate sound insulation between dwellings.

With noise complaints on the increase and a growing litigious culture it has become essential that minimum levels of sound insulation are achieved.

Building regulation 'Approved Document E:2003' lays down minimum requirements for sound insulation between new dwellings.

Testing
To ensure new buildings and conversions comply with sound regulations a stringent test must be carried out. If the building passes the sound test a report stating a pass will be issued. If the building fails the test, remedial action must be carried out before the building can be re-tested.
