Part
'L' Regulatory Requirements
- Under
the 2006 Revision to part 'L', its is a REGULATORY REQUIREMENT, not just guidance,
to conduct an Air Leakage Test.
- Building
Control will not be able to provide a completion certificate without the necessary
Air Leakage Test results and report.
- Where
the 'APPROVED CONSTRUCTION' details have been adopted one test should be carried
out on each dwelling type on each development. seperate blocks of flats are
treated as seperate developments.
- Each
of the following constitutes a change of 'DWELLING TYPE'
- Change
in method of construction e.g. timber frame and brick and block
- Ground
floor, mid floor and top floor flats
- End
terrace and mid terrace
- Semi-detached
and detached
- Significant
changes in building floor area
